Through our own video confession, we find an island, through which we are discovering more suitable methods of architectural work. We leave behind learned rationality. We're looking for holes in the system where we could parasitize. During the story, we encounter characters who symbolize different roles in the class conflict. We meet Iveta from the rich neighborhood, the boss of Milan, Pavel, who lives by the railways, the three-headed dog Heteros, Pepa the developer and the cat Líša. We create a place for those who want to be a part of it. Our ambition is not to discriminate. An outdoor kitchen with a walkable structure around, a garage portal, a radio alarm clock and noise barriers are created on site, out of the site.
Nika is a resource.
Resource of space that we so desperately running out of
We want to claim this junkspace* and inhabit it
In the context of constant fluctuation it is retreat nearby
to be explored
thru the front window we see the life inside
what is it like
to live alienated
detached from own environment
job
fast business
accelerated bullshit**
form of alienation
as we step in we change
dress up
we begin to understand and connect
In the advertisement costume the paradox of the rush seems
so clear
my life be like*** in nika

DISCLIMATIC TERRITORY UMPRUM Architecture II group exhibition 2020
OSTRAVA PARADISE
2019
UMPRUM Architecture 2
group installation
An exhibition exploring and reacting to the post-soviet, post-military area of Ralsko, Czech
republic. The similarity of laboratory procedures with possible approaches to space serves as
basis for visual expression. Personal research is used as a tool for uncovering and portraying
layers of the area. An exploration is lead - artistic, emotional, scientific, architectural.
The creative process conditioned by isolation during quarantine is used as a starting point for
the concept of the gallery space as a place of personal research confined into the Ralsko
scenery.
"I close my eyes and try to imagine what my room would look like if it became Ralsko.”

Sulphur etched a hole, tanks ripped the ground, and human feet paved the way to a new
universe. Where a shoe is an artefact of another civilisation. The vision of scientific tentacles
seems as feasible as a train trip. It is as if time wanted to return to the roots of old apple trees
and at the same time shattered in a galaxy of virtuality. The dilapidated block of flats is a
climbing frame and Ralsko is an architectural laboratory.
The workshop focused on the park
behind Tieto Towers, a place passed
and unnoticed by passers-by, mostly
used by homeless people or as a
shortcut on the way to work. The
atmosphere of the place is completed
by houses from various epochs of
Ostrava‘s history, an unorganized road
network and a number of beautiful
mature trees.
The inspiration was the idea of creating
a paradise, i.e. a place where we are
not disturbed by the surroundings, the
surrounding buildings, where we are
directly connected to the sky. Using the
concept of a wall, a wall in the city.
The word paradise in Old Persian
means a garden surrounded by walls.
Solid aluminum fence panels were
chosen as the main element, from
which a system of corridors leading
to the central space is created. Their
interior offers visitors an interesting
experience focused primarily on the
place itself. The spider line controls
and transforms the entire park, curates
it. It allows only a view of the sky or
selected places of the park, forcing it to
pass unexpectedly, noticing otherwise
neglected places. The installation at
one point crosses the existing road
network; it becomes a barrier in the
short circuit through the park.
The selected material, most often
used as a boundary for construction
interventions, creates a mystification
- it arouses interest in the territory.
